Kojic acid, a fermentation-derived brightener, and turmeric root work on the look of dark spots and uneven patches; shea, cocoa and mango butter are folded in so the bar can do that without the tight, squeaked-clean feeling most brightening soaps leave behind.

What it does

• Two brighteners, not one. Kojic acid and turmeric powder work on tone from different angles, which is why the bar is built around both rather than leaning on a single hero.
• Buffered, not stripped. Coconut oil, shea, cocoa and mango butter carry the actives, so the bar cleanses without pulling moisture out of the skin.
• Citrus finish. Organic lemon oil keeps the scent bright and clean rather than earthy.
• Face and body. Gentle enough to run daily on both.

How to use

Wet skin with warm water and lather in a circular motion. Leave the lather on the skin for 30 to 60 seconds before rinsing — this contact time is where the actives do their work, and it is the step most people skip. Rinse cool, pat dry. Kojic acid raises sun sensitivity, so wear SPF on any area you treat. Keep the bar dry between uses.
